Diocesan
Bishop's Appeal
Sunday – Th
e Day of the Lord”
Diocesan Bishop’s Appeal 2008 – May 3rd and
4th
May 2008
This year, our study and prayer are centered on the Eucharist
and reclaiming Sunday, the Lord’s Day. Sunday is the first
day of the
week; the day which is at the very heart of our Christian life.
For families,
the Sunday assembly is the most outstanding expression of their
identity and ministry. On this first day of the week, the first
hours
belong to our Lord - families attending Mass together, praying
together
and honoring the Lord. This day should be one of rest, relaxation
and
reflection.
We are one Diocese, one community, and together must work to keep
holy
the Lord’s Day by pondering, praying for, and living each
week the
Resurrection of Jesus; the true source of the world’s salvation.
Your offerings to support the ministries and programs of the Diocese
are
an important way to celebrate all that God has created and given
to us.
They are the source and summit of our faith as Catholics.
Th rough your participation in our Diocesan Bishop’s Appeal,
our ministries
and programs can continue and fl urish for all the faithful in
Wyoming.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Please know of my continued prayers for you and your families.
The Most Reverend David L. Ricken, DD, JCL
